Banamichi
The pueblo of Banamichi was founded in the
year 1639 in the valley of the Sonora River. It is a town of
2,000 people filled with colonial architecture, a beautiful
town square and a town park with a statue of Opata warriors
supporting a large petroglyph that was discovered in a field
nearby.
Banamichi is Cowboy Country. It's is a real ranching community where you will see cowboys (vaqueros)
on horseback riding the streets of town. Banamichi is home
to friendly people, great weather, birding, archeological
sites and nearby hot springs. Hiking, horseback riding, biking,
